Poetry and Semiology

I made some compelling connections this week, linking my scant knowledge of semiology with a means of interpreting and understanding poetry. I teach AP English at Ki-Be High School. Early Wednesday morning, I threw my thoughts together into a Power Point presentation and then gave an hour-lomg lecture 1st hour. It worked pretty well. Here is a copy of the presentation: Semiology and Poetry. If the link works as I hope it does.
There. I didn't want to start my first-ever blog entry, on my own blog no less, by saying "this is my first blog entry ever." So I got 'round that one rather nicely.
I am a teacher and a photographer. In that order. I am not sure quite how the latter came about; perhaps I will address that later as the blog develops. I have a passion for both.
I had a busy day today. I polished off my new web site, which should go live on Monday; I designed a marketing piece for Senior Portraits which I think is quite clever; I designed a new business card, which I would give a B- grade to; and I made arrangements to seal the floor at my new studio this weekend.
And in the morning I am supposed to run the St. Patrick's day race with my daughter. We'll see.
